Mark’s foodservice career began in 1988 as the Victoria Territory manager for Dickson’s Coffee, a division of Kraft Foods. In 1992 Mark accepted a position as Vancouver Island Representative for Oppenheimer Bros. Foodservice Division and continued with this position through the transitional period when Pennine Marketing acquired the foodservice division of Oppenheimer. In 1995, Mark left Pennine to open his own brokerage on Vancouver Island, Signature Brands Marketing. For the next 7 years, Signature Brands continued a relationship with Pennine as associate broker.
In December 1999, Mark accepted the position of General Manager for Western Canada at Pennine Marketing and was next appointed Vice-President in August 2000. Mark joined PrimeLine Food Partners as General Manager for Western Canada in October 2002. Mark is now the President of the Advantage Foodservice Sales & Marketing organization. This agency is built on a completely new and different business model with a mandate to deliver an innovative alternative for foodservice representation in the Western Canadian Marketplace.

Brian graduated from BCIT Hotel Management Restaurant Technology. He worked for 17 years at Woodward’s Restaurant Division at several locations throughout BC. Brian moved to Shoppers Wholesale located in Prince George in the capacity of Food Service Manager/Purchaser for their 15-chain operation “Mr. G’s”. Eventually, Brian moved into the sales side of the business and joined Hampton House/J.D Sweid as Business Development Manager where he stayed for eight years.
Brian spent 3 1/2 years at Pennine Marketing working in the food service brokerage area as BC Sales Manager, then spent 1 ½ years with Primeline as BC Sales Manager before joining Advantage Foodservice.

Brent's career started in the Retail industry,over a 15 year period with both Woodwards Food Floors, and Old Dutch Foods. At Old Dutch he was an Owner Operator, before accepting a promotion to the position of Sales Supervisor.
In 1993 he accepted a position at Oppenheimer Bros , in the Foodservice Division. After a couple of years, he transitioned into Pennine Marketing, who purchased the Oppenheimer Foodservice division. Brent accepted a transfer to the Okanagan, and spent 7 years with Pennine Marketing, before accepting a position with Primeline Food Partners. After a short period there, he joined and help start the new Advantage Foodservice, as the Vice President of Sales.
Brent enjoys working with all Distributors, Chain Accounts, and the Advantage Foodservice Western Canada Sales Team, helping to grow sales. He is also responsible for Principle Account Management, and other Management duties, including budgets and planning.

Matt has over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and client management from food service, retail and financial perspectives. Matt was our Vancouver Island representative from August 2001 until October 2010. Matt currently is a Brand Manager for ConAgra Foods and SunRype and provides assistance with special projects for Advantage.

Len Nakonechny has over 25 years of hospitality experience. He has managed full service as well as select-service properties in almost every sector of the business – corporate, franchised and independent. He has extensive experience with new openings, renovation planning, and asset management. He has held positions in the past as Business Development Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, and as Culinary Instructor.
His experience expands across all Brand-Types.He has held positions with for such companies as SYSCO, Vancouver Club, Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts and the Kambolis Restaurant Group.
Len's commitment and desire is to provide the ultimate customer service and is marked through his experience and skills, giving each property he touches a competitive edge within each market.

Richard has over 25 years’ experience in the hospitality industry ranging from neighbourhood pubs to large university multi-unit foodservice operations. He has extensive experience in menu design, menu engineering, and managing food and kitchen costs. During this time Richard also owned several small businesses allowing him to capitalize and further his sales experience. In addition, Richard has worked as public relations and marketing consultant for the food manufacturing, hospitality and tourism industries. Every day represented new opportunities and challenges and this experience has served him well transitioning to the ‘other side of the table’ and into foodservice sales.
After briefly working as a sales rep for Centennial Foodservice Richard is pleased to have found a home with the Advantage Team. Richard is committed to using his entrepreneurial spirit, determination, and love of food to help Advantage principals dominate in the foodservice market.

After graduation, Lynne developed her sales & marketing skills in commercial & residential real estate and applied mortgage certificates through University of BC and received diploma in intensive sales development training courses. Lynne started her career in foodservice in 1994 when she was in partnership in an exotic meat company. The many levels of manufacturing, sales & marketing, distribution spring boarded her into the broker world in 2000. For the past 17 years, Lynne has been focused in street sales on Vancouver Island. She has forged long lasting relationships, with manufacturers, distributors, sales reps and customers. She has a great reputation, is hard working and dedicated to her career and her customers.

Helen spent 10 years in the brokerage business with Pennine and then IPS and became management with the latter in the Calgary marketplace until she semi-retired to BC. We are fortunate to take advantage of her skill set and product know as she takes care of a lot of our healthcare customers.
In October, 2012 Advantage added the Mixology Brand to its family of premium quality foodservice products. Along with the acquisition came Sue Bossley, Mixology’s National Sales Manager. Sue has extensive experience in the food and beverage industry, with over 22 years doing everything from Restaurant Management, Regional and National Sales Management to Research & Development.
Sue has an Arts Diploma from Grant MacEwan University, as well as a Business and Marketing Certificate from Langara College. She has used the combination of her education, entrepreneurial spirit and experience to build and develop long-term business relationships.
Sue is our Mixology Brand Manager, Retail Key Account Manager and Business Development Manager for some new and exciting streams of business within the foodservice industry.
Donna has had many rewarding positions in the food service industry from Winnipeg to the beautiful Okanagan Valley. She has been on distributor, manufacturer and broker teams responsible for retail, cash and carry, chain, healthcare, key and all types of street accounts. Donna has developed corporate buying programs, training programs for new hires and a grab n’ go program line. She has had the opportunity to execute these programs throughout her extensive career.

Steve’s 30 year Foodservice career started in Ontario where he graduated in 1980 from Hotel and Restaurant Management training program. Then Steve took a position as Purchaser for the Calgary Westin Hotel and stayed in that position for the next 5 years before trying the sales side of the business. Steve jumped at the chance to join Ramsay Food Brokerage as Alberta Sales Manager and remained in that role for 5 years before moving to Glasshouse Marketing as Prairie Sales Manager and Part Owner.
Later Steve worked for Pennine Marketing as Prairie Sales Manager for 8 years and then moved on to PJB Primeline as Prairie Sales Manager for the next 5 years. For a change of pace Steve took a position in the produce sales business with Fresh Pro Sales for the next 2 years again running the Prairies. Finally, he found his dream job… at Advantage, where he can stay a little closer to home as Alberta Sales Manager and also manage some of our clients.

Adrienne has been in the foodservice industry for 20 years. Adrienne took Marketing Courses, Sales and Advertising Courses, Design, Culinary and presentation training. She opened her own company in 1983 doing Marketing and Sales. Then in 1986 took a position as Senior Sales Rep for Seattle’s Best Coffee. Then took a position at Pennine Marketing Food Brokerage in 2001 as Key Account Sales Rep. In 2002 Pennine was purchased by IPS Food Brokerage and she was employed there till 2010. Adrienne then went back to working with Mark, Brent and Brian at Advantage Foodservice as a Key Account Manager for Alberta. Adrienne has extensive experience with Distributors, multi unit and street accounts and training.

Johnathon's knowledge of food has brought him to marketing side of the food sector, with 15 years experience in the culinary industry, having successfully completed Culinary arts program through George Brown College and working with Toronto's culinary elite and also being accredited with Red Seal Certification... when the opportunity to join Advantage as Account Manager in Calgary was available, Johnathon was elated to take the next step in his Culinary career.

Kim graduated in 1990 from N.A.I.T. with an Honors Degree in Dietary Technology. She worked in the healthcare field for several years. She began her foodservice career in 1996 as a sales representative for Mustang Food Brokers where she worked until her move over to the Advantage team. She brings experience working with both key and street accounts.

Cheryl is a graduate of the NAIT Dietary Technology program. She worked at the Caritas Health Group for 14 years both in an Active Treatment Hospital as weil as a Long Term care facility. Cheryl found her way in to the brokerage business with a position at Pennine Marketing. She then worked for International Pacific Sales after their acquisition of Pennine Marketing. Cheryl has experience working with key accounts, street accounts and Distributors in the Edmonton Market. She is very excited to be back with many Pennine people at Advantage!

Colline has over 20 years of experience in the food service industry - from cooking at the Keg to sales and marketing for Foodservice and Hospitality trade publications… the diversity of her experience gives her a great foundation and incite for her current role. Colline’s 16 year career as a broker began with Pennine Marketing in 2001 where she developed strong relationships with Distributors, Restaurant Owners, Chefs, and Purchasers. A deep understanding of the food service industry and her passion for our partner companies shows in her role as brand manager. A strong background in education and behavior management complements her ability to be a strong team leader. Having successfully managed the Manitoba/Saskatchewan market for 15 years, Colline has now embraced the opportunity to move into the role of Marketing Manager while maintaining her role as brand manager.

Brian’s 20 year Foodservice career started in Manitoba where he graduated in 1993 with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He then began his first role as the Food and beverage manager at the Norvilla hotel. After 2 years Brian left the food industry for 3 years to pursue an opportunity with JTI Mac Donald as an account manager, working on the retail side of the business. Brian’s 10 year career as a broker began with Glen D Ross Agencies in 2002 as Food Service Manager, where he developed strong relationships with Distributors, Restaurant Owners, Chefs, and Purchasers covering Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Northwest Ontario. In 2012 Brian decided to move to the operator side of the business, Managing the Olive Garden restaurants in Winnipeg, and then in 2015 becoming General Manager of Mongo's Grill. In 2017 there was a great opprtunity to join the Advantage team , utilizing his sales and operator skills to showcase our principals.

Terry has had a very diversified career within the food services industry . Having initially trained as a Baker he gained Journeyman status after 3 years in the industry, then moved on to Bakery management for Super Stores in Winnipeg . From there it was a short step to a position of Corporate Pastry Chef with Great West Life which he held for 9 years. Wanting to get back into management he then joined joined the Kitching Group as a Subway Manager which eventually led to a position of Operations Manager for 16 stores.
Terry jumped at the opportunity to join a start up venture by South African company Mvelaserve who own and operate over 300 King Pie franchises world wide when he used his experience within the baking and Q.S.R industry’s to set up their production facility and Quick Service franchise outlets in Winnipeg. Terry was thrilled when the opportunity arose to use his vast experience within the industry to provide support as an Account Manager with Advantage
"Darlene’s career in the foodservice industry began at the Red Oak Inn in Brandon Manitoba where she worked in various positions both back and front of house. She left the food industry for a short time to pursue a career in Interior Design, but came back to a position with Canada Bread (McGavin Foods). Her career with Canada Bread developed from Sales Coordinator in Winnipeg, to Territory Manager in Edmonton and finally Darlene accepted a transfer to CBCL Regina Saskatchewan where her responsibility increased to over-all Management for the Southern Saskatchewan area. Darlene’s strong industry relationships, ability to work with people, manage distribution of product as well a budgets, manage key accounts and increase sales will be an asset to the Advantage Team! Michelle has been looking after the bookkeeping and accounting processes of Advantage Foodservice since 2005
